Monet fish scales

July 1, 2008 at 3:24 pm (Draped, Kerry Washington, Pastels, Ruffles, Sequins) (, , , , )

I guess I get these Armani Prive pieces separately. The jacket reminds me a bit of fish scales, and I’m iffy on the neckline, but the jacket alone with a simpler bottom is tolerable.

The skirt alone with a simpler top could also be tolerated. It’s a little Monet manic with pleats and draping, but I can see the feminine look it is going for.

Together, the outfit makes no sense. I’m not sure if it even matches/flows/goes together. I’m just befuddled.

Baby diapers

July 1, 2008 at 12:34 pm (Asymmetrical, Draped, Jennifer Lopez, Sashes) (, , , , )

This is classic: Marc Anthony received an honorary award from the Town Council of Milan, Italy, for his contributions on music. There is good government in action.

JLo was on hand to “support her husband” for this tremendous honor. Whatever. I think she’s been changing too many baby diapers. The color of this dress is just atrocious. Unless you want to look like a seventies curtain, you should pass.

PS Is there a little bit of girdle peeking out?

Checkered chronicles

July 1, 2008 at 8:34 am (Anna Popplewell, Checkered, Pleated) (, , , , , )

Maybe people are only looking at Ben Barnes, and Anna Popplewell has to work extra hard at getting noticed. So she grabs the nearest checkered flag, and wraps it around her like a bath towel.

A girl starring in a summer blockbuster has to be a little more fashion savvy. This dress is shapeless and is smashing the girls down to her waist.

Anna: you’re 19. Live it up while you can! Show off your waist! Give us a little leg! And– in the name of all fashion that is holy and good– never, never, ever wear those shoes again. Please.
