I know the last Spice Girls tour didn’t go so well. Did Victoria Beckham decide to join the Village People instead?

I love/covet/worship the Valentino bag (although Fergie’s in cream was even better), but the rest of this dumpy gray montage can go. Especially the atrocious hat/sunglasses combo. Yikes!

A diversion from fashion (although it does relate a bit to the earlier post). Is there nothing that David and Victoria Beckham won’t schlep? Fish sticks? Really? Come. On.

Undoubtedly, Victoria Beckham has a flair for the dramatic in fashion. But I do wonder — is it about the clothes or is it about her?

Maybe this is a crazy question in today’s world of shameless self-promotion. Maybe a woman who schleps perfume and jeans and make-up and God-knows-what-else, it is only about self promotion.

Some celebrities truly love fashion. Charlize, Gwyneth, and Nicole come to mind. Oviously, Victoria Beckham has splendid taste. But I think she’s in it for herself and not for fashion.

PS Am I the only one who sees a Chippendale dancer in that tie?

Bringing hairy back

August 29, 2008 at 9:46 am (Fur, Headband, Tank, Victoria Beckham) (, , , , , , )

I cannot think of a single scenario where a hairy back would be considered alluring. Granted, Victoria Beckham is a far cry from an overweight shirtless dude with hair along his back and arms. Nevertheless, I don’t think this is a fashion trend that will (or even should) catch on.

This Giambattista Valli dress otherwise is impeccable, albeit a little plain. It’s a shame the furry mink of a back was added. I can think of a million other ways to embellish this dress well.
